If you enjoy what you do, the results will come naturally.

We often feel as if our job or the work we do is the most monotonous and complex work in our life, and statistics show that more than half of people dislike their jobs. However, we have a story about two successful women entrepreneurs who have given us a new perspective on work, and we couldn’t help but share it with our AudStory community.

Anshu stressed in our extremely insightful talk that she has always believed in doing something that represents her authentic self. She also mentioned that she hasn’t yet discovered her calling. But it’s the process of transformation that she’s most interested in.

She believes that while this journey can be overwhelming for many but if you enjoy what you do and create for yourself with pure intent then this journey can be absolutely satisfying. She also stated that doing work with pure intentions is like a true connection with the holy divine.

On the other hand, our conversation with Simmy reminded us of our favourite quote from Warren Buffet that stated:-

“There comes a time when you ought to start doing what you want. Take a job that you love. You will jump out of bed in the morning. I think you are out of your mind if you keep taking jobs that you don’t like because you think it will look good on your resume. Isn’t that a little like saving up sex for your old age?”

Simmy left her corporate job to pursue a career in content creation, whereas Anshu enjoys her work as a content producer in an agency. This brings us to the peculiarity of appreciating what we do. She has placed a strong focus on being her authentic self and on the journey that we all take. If you love what you do then you wouldn’t mind going the extra mile and your creative side will thrive. Do not compare your content or work with others. This will affect your productivity because you’ll spiral into the ‘I am not good enough’ zone. Stick to your journey and work on yourself. Every content creator wants to thrive and stay relatable for long. You need to understand that your audience grows just like you. So, when you think that you’ve stopped enjoying your content and it’s losing the touch then it’s time to reinvent yourself.

Now might I add; that Simmy had her fair share of struggles even in the job that she loves. She had to work for free initially to build contacts. She stated that she used up all her savings for making content on youtube. On the other hand, Anshu explained to us how we are still learning, she correctly stated, that we are learning every day. While she stated that she is still learning to improve her podcast every day, she also stated that she is taking things one day at a time. She has always been a firm believer in appreciating her efforts. And this is something we’ve learned from all of the artists: they genuinely enjoy what they do.

And, while this is only a sliver of what we discussed in the stream with one of India’s most inspiring content makers, it doesn’t seem insignificant at all.

It becomes important to cite more examples of creators and entrepreneurs who have followed their passion and have become very successful in their fields.

So if you’re someone who is stuck in the loop de loop of working on something that you don’t really like and you feel you don’t have an option, remember that we have such exemplary instances where people have chosen their passion and made a whole successful career out of it. Make this your sign, and just work for whatever makes your heart swing.
